The most powerful compositional tools in Phototography

https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AntoineDagobert/posts

The Leading Line is the most important and powerful thing in composition.
Because Its carry the eyes of the viewer and its create the DOF (depth of field) to your image.
Our job as photographer is to find or create that leading line. It means that you give the viewer a clue where to start and where to find the vanishing point of view.

In this image of mine "The Sacred Temple" I drew two diagonal lines (Golden Ratio Composition).
Golden Ratio Composition in mathematics, two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities. The figure on the right illustrates the geometric relationship. Expressed algebraically, for quantities a and b with a > b > 0(Wikipedia theory), for me its simple just divide the image field in 3:2 then you will have automatically 3 > 2 > 0

First diagonal line give guidance into the horizontal depth of the image and the second one provide the viewer into the vertical DOF,  I always use this composition technique to create DOF in portrait format. I am aiming my focus point on the smallest box and believe me, you will find how amazing depth of field its create by this theory.

Remember Photography is all about visual journey,  and a journey always has a start point and also the end point or the vanishing point. So folks, I wish you all good luck on trying :D

Cheers
