Night Clubs Digital Photography Tips

https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AntoineDagobert/posts

First of all, my wish for you on the first day of 2015..., "I wish you all the best blessing in everything that you undertake in 2015, Happy New Year to you all folks"

Shooting in night club always challenging and fun, but it is not easy for sure.

I have some tips to share with you:
  1. Select Aperture Priority (A) or Shutter Speed Priority (S) mode on your DSLR Camera. Let the camera determine the best aperture or shutter speed for you. Believe me is saving you from headache and bad mood :D and keeping you alert for great moment.
  2. Use ISO - Auto mode on your DSLR...Let the camera choose which ISO to use for you..again it will less your burden.
  3. Your shutter speed will be around 1/5 up to 1/40 if you choose Aperture Priority mode and your Aperture will be around F4 -F5.6 if you use the Shutter Speed Priority mode. You need to remember this!!!
  4. Use wide lens- range 16 up to 35mm with UV filter to absorb the flare that is cause by all that Stage Lighting System
  5. Bring your Flash gun. Set your Flash Gun on iTTL for Nikon/eTTL for Canon. With this program your flash gun will choose for you the best Evaluative/Intelligent light you need. Of course they made mistakes too...well they are not smart as their name :D But at least it will give you more then one pictures that you can use :D
  6. Use Auto White Balance. Today DSLR already has great White Balance..make us easier compare to the old generation in beginning period of DSLR.
  7. Flash gun diffuser/modifier. A lots of type diffuser/modifier you can buy today. But still my favorite are Gary Fong Modifier or Dana Ng Wing Light Flash Diffuser

All of the type of diffuser/modifier were made to soften and to make a better spreading of the light.

What to Capture?

A lots of to capture...this is the fun part...because your audience is having a lots of fun :D Its  a great place for candid photography, quick, click and save :D sometimes you can ask them to pose for you too. Its free and its fun, just lose your self and the important thing is merge yourself with the ambiance.

Post Production

I always shoot in RAW, it is easier for the Post Production later on. For all my documentaries job, I always use Adobe Lightroom. That is why I have to make sure to have a good shot. With a good shot I only make a small adjustment in Lightroom. "TIME IS MONEY" :D

That's all folk, thanks for your time and I hope this article will help you on your next photography assignment/adventure.

Cheers :D
